Citizens of Wasco

Please have your containers out by 6:00 A.M. on the day of pick up.

Schedule A:

  • Monday – Black container “trash”
  • Thursday – Green container “green waste”

Schedule B:

  • Tuesday – Black container “trash”
  • Friday – Green container “green waste”

Your container will not be dumped if, you forget to put your container out, if it has been flagged (due to contamination) or if it is behind a parked vehicle.  Please don’t call the office, your trash or green waste will be picked up the following week on your regular route day.

If a Holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday your trash container will be picked up on the next business day.  If a Holiday falls on a Thursday or Friday your green waste will be picked up one business day early, except the Friday after Thanksgiving on which that day we will work to empty your green container.

Holidays are:

New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The City request that the following items not be place in the trash containers, such as:

Construction materials, bricks, stones, gravel, concrete, mortar, lumber, earth, silt, sand, metal, engine or auto parts, oils, paints or chemicals.

Any waste oil, paint or regulated chemicals dumped into the trash containers will be reported to the proper authorities.

Only grass and leaves is allowed in the green can.  Animal waste, garbage, trash, brush or tree limbs are not allowed in the green cans.  If the can is contaminated with these materials, it will not be dumped.

Please be aware that you must remove your trash receptacle from the alley area or sidewalk on those days when there is not a pickup day.  If it remains in the alley or sidewalk you could be citied and/or fined as it is in violation of the Wasco Municipal Code Section 8.12.050.

The property owner is responsible for the cleaning of the containers and will be responsible for the loss or damage due to misuse.
