SPECIAL MEETING
Wasco City Council
Wednesday, December 13, 2006 – 4:00pm

1)      CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Espitia called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.
2)      ROLL CALL: Mayor Espitia, Council Members: Cortez, Pearson, Wegman and West.
        EDC Advisory Committee: Gary Bray, Javier Carabarin, Patty Arredondo, Eric
        Merz, Rick Meredith and Gary Steward

3)      REPORT AND POSSIBLE MINUTE ACTION, RE:  Approval to Operate Dial-A-Ride Transit Bus on Christmas Eve from Noon to 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with Community Holiday Programs.  Mr. Pennell presented the concept to the council.  Cortez made a motion to approve, 2nd by Pearson.  All in favor, motion carried 4-0-1 West absent.

4)      DISCUSSION WITH WASCO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AND POSSIBLE MINUTE ACTION, RE:  City of Wasco Signage and Marketing Program
Ron Mittag presented the need to reach a consensus on the city logo, how it is used, and is it in need of an update.
Rocky Campbell of MCSQUARED Design Group and Vicki Doll of Chabin Concepts were in attendance to present ideas and to find what the Council and the committee have in mind for logo usage and updates.  

Councilmember Cortez left the meeting at 5:25 p.m.

After a lengthy discussion and some direction, the team of Doll and Campbell were given the go ahead to bring back to council and the advisory committee some new options and usage ideas.

5)      DISCUSSION, RE:  Industrial Park Updates.
Mr. Pennell gave an update on the progress of the meetings with Harris and Associates and URS.  He also reported that Planning, Public Works, and Economic Development department heads have been working closely in an effort to keep up with deadlines.

6)      CLOSING COMMENTS:
Ron Mittag thanked the council and the Economic Development committee for attending and their respective input and ideas.

7)      ADJOURNMENT Pearson made a motion to adjourn at 5:40 p.m., 2nd by Wegman.  Motion carried 3-0-2 Cortez and West absent.
