Mayor
Mayor West is dedicated to encouraging growth in all areas of our community. During 14 years on the City Council, he has been involved in establishing the Wasco Redevelopment Agency, the Wasco Public Finance Authority, construction of the industrial park and golf course, and funding loans and grants for residential construction. Mr. West began his public service as the President of the Wasco Union High School Senior Class in 1971. He served on the Wasco Planning Commission for 5 years, and served the Wasco Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture for 4 years as Treasurer.
Mr. West has a BS degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from UC Berkeley. He is a CPA and small business owner. He is a past President of the Wasco Rotary Club and the Wasco Exchange Club. He is a member of the Elks Lodge and the Society of California Accountants. Mr. West has been married to Kay West for 23 years. They have three children: Lindsey, Courtney and Matthew.
